i wonder what she thinks of edward.
i've spent today watching the first 3 episodes of legend of the seeker, and have only just realised why it seems so familiar when i'm certain i haven't read the book. years ago, i read a gundam wing fic with the same premise. hahaha, past catching up with me? yeah i think so. XD
the confessor series by annabell, if anyone's wondering. i remember reading and rereading when i was about 13.
also, also, the jon walker saves christmas meme. yes, jwalk totes saves christmas, because he is just that awesome.
AND IT SNOWED TODAY FOR ALL OF AN HOUR. YAAAAAY. didn't settle though, because of course, this is London. \o/
and apparently, while google chrome is super fast, it doesn't have a bookmark manager for mac, this is making me sadfaced. it also isn't letting me make lj user tags. not sure whether this is just lj being a bitch again though. :/ anyone else having trouble? anyway, thank you jennifer and kendra for the lovely cards. :D

Just posted this on Twitter, but it bears repeating here as well. (Lifted from here, where the code to the following is available for c/p.)
* Gender will be a mandatory field at account creation, and it will be able to appear public on one's profile. (I can't tell if people with existing gender specification will be defaulted to "nobody can see it" or "everybody can see it".) (Subsequent changelog reading indicates that the public specificity has since been removed. It is unknown whether this is to require public specificity in the future or if it will remain private.)
* LiveJournal is removing the Unspecified option for the gender field. That's right: you get to be male or female. Period. That's it. (Source.)
If this pisses you off as much as it pisses me off, go to Edit Profile and select Unspecified for your gender option. Then, go to http://www.livejournal.com/contact/?dept=feedback and politely register your displeasure. (The people who read and process Feedback are not the people who make the decisions. They are often the people who are yelling internally about the decisions.)
(This will likely take place at the next code push, which given LJ's history will be either this Thursday or next, so spread the word fast, especially to the genderqueer community. After that point, you will no longer be able to pick "Unspecified" as your gender.)

thank you for your feedback.
However, the code update that you refer to is not live and did not have any chance to go live. That was a beta release, we always push code to beta to see if everything works correctly. In many cases it does not and we either fix bugs or pull the code from the final release plan.
We were going to add a gender field to the sign up user flow, which is fine, but by mistake it became a mandatory "female/male" field for everyone. This is why this is not going live. And this is what beta releases are for, to see problems and solve them before any user faces a problem.
I would appreciate if you share this information with your friends that are also concerned. I am sorry that you were misinformed.
I sincerely hope this is the case and this code will not go through. |

I have just taken the last godawful standardized test required in order to get into all my colleges! Up yours, ACT.
As of now have now gotten into Mercyhurst and ~~Rutgers~~ but am drowning in work ahhhhhhh haaaalp why did I apply to nineteeeeeen
... also, it seems that a lot of you are having a hard time right now, so ♥♥♥ to you. I hope things start looking up. |

1/ Okay, flist, help a girl out here. Back in the late 90s, or possibly early 2000s, there was this show, about a man living in an apartment who got newspaper deliveries that told him the future for the following day and it was always something awful that he would have to try and prevent. He also had a cat. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS SHOW WAS? IT'S DRIVING ME MAD. I NEED TO KNOOOOW. Early Edition! You guys are fabulous. :D
2/ The AWESOME news is: I've passed my word count goal for the year! \o/ It started out as 100K, but then I came to my senses sometime in February and realised that with my writing speed that would be virtually impossible. I halved it to 50K, and my Solstice fic put me comfortably beyond that. YAY. This is only counting the posted word count, I have at least 25K of WiPs on my harddrive. D:

The REALLY UPSETTING news is: I have somehow accidentally deleted/lost/misplaced my apocabigbang document. I've opened up every single document in my wip folder and it's not there. Neither is it in any of the other folders on my desktop. I've tried searching, but I can't remember what I named it. D: D: D: I had a bit written, and I don't often feel this way about my writing, but I actually liked it! And now it's gone. /o\
3/ This is too awesome to put under a cut. And because ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) lizardspots is a horrible horrible person who makes me feel bad for ditching the Harry Potter fandom for anime and Asian boybands before it apparently exploded, I have spent last night and the entire morning going through Switchknife and painless_j 's recs, REDISCOVERING THE PEOPLE I USED TO STALK, drowning in HP fic. OH MY GOD. I FORGOT HOW INSANE THIS FANDOM WAS.
ALSO, I'D FORGOTTEN ABOUT THIS FANDOM AND ITS ABANDONED WIPS. OH GOD, MIRROR OF MAYBE TRAUMA. YEAH, I STILL HAVE IT.
And that one fic, where Harry could turn into animals and he was getting tutored by Snape? Or possibly he was spying on Snape. But it was MASSIVELY LONG and I have lost the link and can't remember what it was called. HELP ME, FLIST. And the one where Harry had Tom Riddle in his head, and they were trapped in some kind of magical force field and Snape went into idk rescue him or something? /o\
TALK HP WITH ME PEOPLE. YOUR FAVOURITE FICS? FAVOURITE ART? What was the first HP fic you ever read? I discovered Irresistible Poison through my favourite *coughDigimoncough* writer, and was hardcore Harry/Draco for a while, but now Harry/Snape is more appealing (which, speaking of WIP trauma, Legacy of Old was my first Harry/Snape fic.
